Chicago (NL) fans certainly got their money's worth at Wrigley Field.  Jeremi Gonzalez(2-2) pitched a rare no-hitter as the Chicago (NL) Cubs toppled the San Diego Padres 6 to 0.

Gonzalez was spectacular. He walked 2 San Diego batters. The tension started to build around the 6th inning.  By the 9th inning the crowd was electrified.  Several hot Cubbie girls showed titties before the start of the ninth.  Chicago (NL) rapped out 8 hits for the afternoon.

Sterling Hitchcock(2-4) was the loser.  He gave up 2 runs and 4 hits in 5 innings.  After the game, Gonzalez was heard to say, 'This is something I have dreamt about since I was a little boy - to have it come true is just amazing!'

Gonzalez's final line: (W) 9.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 8K.

Jeremi Gonzalez was killed May, 25 2008 in a lightning strike.  What are the odds of pitching a no hitter and getting hit by lighting?

RAPTUROUS VICTORY!

TORONTO AT DETROIT
Blue Jays....... 0 0 0  1 2 0  0 0 1  -  4  7  4
Tigers.......... 1 2 0  0 1 0  0 0 1  -  5  9  2
Win:Jones(1-0) Loss:Quantrill(1-3)
Homeruns- M.Nieves(9th)

DETROIT -- It was a game Mat McNeil called "the most exciting of the season."  The Tigers pulled off an incredible walk-off win in the 9th after Bobby Higginson dropped a fly ball in the top half of the 9th to push it to extras.

The scoring started early.  The Tigers pushed across two runs in the bottom of the 2nd.  Melvin Nieves homered, Brian Hunter and Jody Reed both reached on fumbled groundballs and errant throws by pitcher Pat Hentgen.  But Detroit made a crucial miscue of their own in the bottom of the 5th.  After a double and single produced one run, Tigers' starter Lira, threw a ball into the stands to allow another run to score.

In the bottom of the ninth, after dodging numerous threats in the 7th and 8th, it looked like the game was in the bag.  The Tigers were leading 4-3 with Jones on the mound.  After a runner reached, a routine fly was smacked to Bobby Higginson who dropped the ball.  "I lost it in the lights," he said later.  That tied the game 4-4.  The Blue Jays left the bases loaded in the 9th.  A big hit would've capped the game.

Pinch-hitter Easley reached to start the 9th, Hunter successfully bunted him to second, and then Fryman singled.  Easley had a 75% chance of scoring on the play.  The third base coach waved him home, and the Tigers won!  Incredible

Notes:
  • The Yankees have won 18 of their last 21.  They are giving the Tigers no opening to move up in the standings.
  • Tony Clark is now batting just .201 (.617 OPS).  He is 7-for-his-last-44 (.160) with 0 home runs and 3 RBI.

TIGERS DROP FINALE, TAKE SERIES

DETROIT -- In a good matchup it was the Cleveland Indians 3, the Detroit Tigers 1 in 11 innings at Tiger Stadium.

The game was deadlocked at 1 after nine full innings.  Cleveland won the game in the 11th inning.  David Justice led off and started the rally when he doubled.  After an out was recorded, Sandy Alomar came to the plate and laced a one-base hit.  One out later, Marquis Grissom stepped in and he tripled.  The Detroit bats were silent in the bottom of the 11th.

Paul Assenmacher(2-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. Mike Jackson recorded his 5th save.  A.J. Sager(0-3) suffered the loss in relief.

Bobby Higginson and Damion Easley both went 1-for-5, ruining many Detroit rallies.

Cleveland now has a record of 19-18.  With the loss, the Detroit ballclub's record is 17-20.  They are 4-2 against the Indians this year.

MANAGER CALLS OUT CLARK

TORONTO -- After tonight's 1-0 loss to the Blue Jays, a game in which Roger Clemens took a no hitter into the 7th inning due in large part to Tony Clark's batting foibles, Manager Mat McNeil ripped the slugging first baseman in a post-game interivew.  He destroyed Clark in no polite terms.

"This is fucking bullshit.  Attention Fans!  Tony Clark is 6-for-his-last-34 (.176) with zero home runs and has bombed in so many clutch situations.  First base is a position you expect massive offensive contribution from.  Tell me fans, are you okay with a first sacker who's hitting .214 on the season and second in the league in strikeouts?  It's fucking bullshit, its called having a slow bat.  It's called missing pitches.  It means a lack of work ethic.  It's lazy ██████ bullshit.  It's okay to bat .214 if you're hitting 10th in the lineup, but when you're our offensive force, .214 ain't fucking cutting it.  Period.  Buck for the cameras, Tony, you're being a bitch.  I want you to buck and explain yourself.  Come on, nigga, buck down.  You are benched next game, got it pal?  You are the reason we are still under .500, you are the biggest dissapointment.  I'll have you doing sprints for hours before tomorrow's game and then I'll send your ass out on the back forty to do some heavy lifting.  Wake up, ██████."

The Tigers are now 11 games back and have dropped to 4th place.  Statisically, Tony Clark ranks among the worst first baseman in the league.

Manager McNeil is at the edge of popping a cork.

RASH OF KILLINGS IN DETROIT

DETROIT -- A spate of recent grisly homicides, including four in the adjacent blocks outside Tiger Stadium, have fans and the community worried this evening.  A total of eleven young girls have been killed, suggesting a serial killer might be in our midst.

"Wooo lordy, I can't believe it, oooh I'm scared," Juwanna Walker said outside the stadium.

The victims are all teenager girls (jailbait) taken from their homes in neighboring suburbs.  They have all been described as "beautiful."  The killer is apparently keeping their left ears as souvenirs since each victim's ear has been apparently hacked off.

"We believe the killer is a dangerous psychotic who is keeping the ears because he's trying to talk to his victims in the afterlife.  He's most likely a violent schizophrenic clown," Detroit Homicide Detective Laurence Anderson said today.

There has been an outpouring of support from the community.  Mourners are gathering at the kill sites (but they get the fuck out of there before it gets dark).  The girls, we reiterate, are all beautiful.  He preys on especially gourgeous young girls just entering puberty.  So far it seems he only kills them beneath full moons.

We expect that the killer may be writing a note to the police any day taunting them about his crimes.

Stay tuned to Tiger Bomb for any emerging details.  Commissioner Harry Scanlon chimed in, "Eh, I don't wanna be too hard on the guy [the killer].  I mean, he's out having fun, doesn't surprise me, things happen good and bad in life.  I tip my cap to him."

The staff here at Tiger Bomb expects a "summer of rage" from this mad killer.  Should be very interesting.
